The Lord has been pleased to add to His church another young man by the name of
Jed Boyer. Jed is 15 years old, has attended Bible Baptist all of his life and is the son of our secretary.
Following are the words of his testimony: "I come to you now as a sinner brought to repentance and salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. I thought I was saved a few years ago but I know I wasn't. The feeling is so different and the only thing you want to do is praise the Lord for all He has done for you. A few weeks ago the Lord began dealing with my heart and several days ago I was lying in bed and was crying and thinking on what would happen if I died; because I knew I would go to hell and I got scared and could not take it. I was up for awhile just thinking about it and I finally went to sleep from being so tired. The next morning I was thinking, "you know, I can't keep putting this kind of thing off." I used to think I could get saved whenever I wanted, but the truth is we are not promised tomorrow and I could have died at any time. I was still afraid... but the Lord was still with me and the fear of my sin was still with me. I did not know what to do and I was scared. I talked to my mom and she said I should read my Bible and pray and ask for forgiveness for my sin and also that we should talk to Brother Henry; he would know what to do. So, we went to talk to Brother Tom and he said he was just like me and he used to lie awake at night thinking "what if I were to die" and right then I thought I had to get the Lord in my heart because if I don't I will die a sinner. I know we are all born sinners but to be reborn into life in the Lord and praise His name forever is the thing sought for. We talked and we prayed and in that moment my sins and by burdens were forgiven and that is the greatest thing anyone could ask for. To all you who are not saved, pray for yourself; just think on what you should do because I will be praying or you. Thank you."
Jed made his confession on May 25 and was baptized the following Sunday, June 1, 2008.

Yet another young man has been under conviction of the Lord; Christian Henry, the grandson of our Assistant Pastor, also gave his testimony on June 1 and was baptized that evening.
Following are his own words also: "I have been going to church for my entire life. I have listened to sermons, Sunday school lessons and testimonies, but God used Jed's testimony last week to really speak to me.
I was in bed Monday night thinking about Jed's testimony when it really occurred to me that my sins were dragging me to hell. Needless to say, I couldn't sleep. So, on Tuesday, I talked to my dad about my need for a savior, and he read Matthew chapter 7 to me. In Matthew 7 it talks about building your house on a rock, instead of sand, and dad explained how Jesus is the rock and this world is the sand. Then dad talked to me about how Jesus says in Matthew 7 that those who seek Him will find Him, and those who ask Him for forgiveness will get forgiveness. So, I asked to talk to my granddad.
Granddad picked me up on Wednesday, and we spent the day together. He told me that the Bible is the "bread of life," and we can't live without the Bible, like we can't live without food. Then we prayed together, and I asked God for forgiveness. God answered my prayer."
As you can see, Christian and Jed are young, however, when the Lord gives salvation, the change in the individual is so dramatic that those around can witness and attest to the fact that the Lord has indeed visited these young men.
